about
jessica renich (ren-ick) is a ceramic artist and printmaker based in southern california.
after hairstyling for 13 years, jessica turned to pottery in 2021. she attended saddleback community college’s ceramics course and her path towards a more serious art career began. during her time at saddleback, jessica began to also explore printmaking methods and intersecting them with ceramic sculpture and functional ware. beyond school, jessica has explored different firing methods. turns out, setting stuff on fire is really cool in a lot of different ways. wood, soda, raku, and other atmospheric firings all pique her interest with its wild nature mixed with a dose of chemistry.
she currently works as a ceramics studio tech and instructor at local pottery studios while working towards her bachelor’s of fine art with a focus in ceramics. she teaches all ages, always encouraging to have fun, make less sense, and let go of perfection. she continues to make personal work that she sells online and at local markets throughout the year.
her work is “tough but tender"; poetry and soft meanings with a darker alternative aesthetic. she draws inspiration from music, gothic and renaissance era art, poetry, and feeling feelings. from silly to serious, she creates with hopes of relatability and understanding.

i don’t have commissions available currently. i do have some customizable options for things i already make, but otherwise what i have to offer is just what i have to sell.
preorders are ordered within a certain window of time and take about 2-3 months to complete. preorders are paid for in full at the time of ordering.
it’s important to remember that when making custom work, i typically have to create double in order to account for any unforeseen circumstances. completion time is subject to change due to this.
